VERBS

A verb is a word used for “saying” something about something else. A verb has been called pre-eminenty “the word” because it is the chief word in a sentence. In fact, it is the chief word in a sentence. In fact, it is the most important kind of word in human speech. For examples:
“James laughs” : we might designate James by pointing to him end our finger: but we  cannot express any fact about him, as “laugh”, without saying the word “laughs”
